Building Community Together is a new initiative to help people in West Berkshire help each other. It aims to make our communities stronger, and less reliant on council services whilst still getting the things they need to thrive.

Building Community Together has five strategic priorities they are:

  1. To improve emotional health and well-being

  2. To make sure that anyone experiencing abuse or violence, or struggling with substance or alcohol abuse, knows who to talk to in order to get help, and reduce the likelihood of it happening again

  3. Make it easier for adults to find training places, and then find a job

  4. Help our children and young people succeed at school, encourage better attendance and fewer exclusions

  5. Protect and safeguard children and adults

Friends in Need (Depression Alliance)

At Depression Alliance we strive to end the loneliness and isolation that comes with depression. We bring people together to make them happier through groups, events, publications and now through Friends in Need. Read more.

Volunteer Centre West Berkshire provides information, advice and guidance about voluntary opportunities in Newbury and across West Berkshire. In addition to our role as a volunteer recruitment agency for local organisations who need volunteer help, we also undertake direct services for the elderly, infirm and wider community including, volunteer car and driver scheme, handy bus, shop mobility, brefriending and village agents.




Comic Relief is seeking proposals from organisations working in partnership in the UK that are using the power of sport to empower women and girls to reach their full potential.
Dingley’s Promise is a small charity that is passionate about ensuring every child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) gets the best start. Our Centres are places where children who have special social, education and health needs attend learning through play sessions. They are places where children and their families can make friends and learn. We run three centres in Wokingham, Newbury and Reading. We have a small central office in Gillette Way in Reading.
The aim of “Drugs County Lines – Need to know sessions” is to raise awareness of the emerging problem of the effects on West Berkshire by organized crime groups from London. To provide current information of who is targeting vulnerable children and adults, what tactics are being used and who is potentially most at risk. The purpose is to safeguard children and adults, to increase reporting, sharing information and prevent them from being targeted and getting hurt.
