Extended Description

The Cumber Family Charitable Trust offers grants to charitable organisations working in the UK.

The funding is for charitable organisations undertaking projects in the following areas:

  • Working outside the UK (preferably with an emphasis on active involvement in agriculture or rural development).
  • Welfare.
  • Education.
  • Medical.
  • Disadvantaged children's needs.
  • Agricultural/conservation.

Value Notes

The Trust makes grants out of the income it receives from its investments each year. Last year it gave around £43,000 to 58 projects. Most of the funding was given to organisations previously supported by the Trust.

Grants range from between £250 to £1,500. Most grants are for either £500 or £1,000.


Latest Information

Applications should be submitted one month before the meetings which take place in March and November each year.


Eligible Expenditure

Projects must be one of the following:

  • Working outside the UK (preferably with an emphasis on active involvement in agriculture or rural development).
  • A UK national charity.
  • A charity active in Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Preference is for charities working in the areas of welfare, education, medical or disadvantaged children's needs, or agriculturally and/or conservation focussed. The Trustees have also supported local conservation and archaeological projects.


Key Criteria

UK registered charities that are based in the UK and have a bank account in the UK can apply.

Restrictions

Funding is not available for individuals.


Application Procedure

The application must be sent in paper format and not by email or in electronic format. There is no formal application form but applicants should include full contact details and a comprehensive outline of the project.
