The Gibbs Charitable Trust

Status: Open for applications

Grant for registered charities in the UK to support general charitable activities. Grants are usually made between the values of £1,000 and £3,000.

The Trust is prepared to provide ‘pump-priming’ money. On occasions it has committed itself to making regular annual grants for a three-year period.

Extended Description

The Gibbs Charitable Trust Grant is provided and administered by the Gibbs Charitable Trust and is available for registered charities in the UK.

The scheme is intended to support Methodist Church organisations and general charitable activities.

Key Criteria

Registered charities in the UK are eligible to apply. The Trust has tended to make grants in South Wales, Bristol and South London, because of historic and current links. There is a tendency to support projects that trustees know, and that they can visit.

Application Process

Applications should be made in writing and should be limited to two A4 sides, if possible. The application should include:

  • A covering letter.
  • A brief description of the project.
  • A budget.
  • Details of other applications.

Applications should be submitted in an easily re-cyclable form (no spring-coil binding), and applicants are asked to use both sides of the page.
