Grants are made between the values of £1,000 and £5,000.

Extended Description

The John Rayner Charitable Trust Grant is provided and administered by The John Rayner Charitable Trust.

The scheme is intended to support registered charities undertaking projects with the following themes:

  • Medical or disability, including research, treatment or care.
  • Children.
  • The elderly.
  • Community projects.
  • The arts.

Latest Information

The annual deadline for applications is 31 January

Key Criteria

Eligible organisations must:

  • Operate in the UK.
  • Have registered charity status.

Priority will be given to organisations operating in Merseyside and Wiltshire.


Eligible Expenditure

Costs associated with eligible projects.



Funding is not available for:

  • Individuals.
  • Animal welfare.
  • Faith based groups.


Application Procedure

Applications should be made in writing and will not be accepted via email. There is no application form so letters should contain:

  • Details of the Charity
  • What the funding is needed for eg: special projects, core funding
  • Simple copy of the accounts

Grant applications are considered in February and only successful applicants will be contacted thereafter.
